He blinked and yawned. His heavy lids felt as though he had never slept, and today he was supposed to fight against Rin. He got up slowly, and walked outside of his den and walked down to the plateau. He wondered if Rin was already awake and ready for their battle, or if she was still asleep. "Rin, are you ready to fight?" He looked around, searching for Rin's body one the plateau.

Rin lifted up her head and yawned, she opened her eyes and stood up. 'Today is the day for the showdown'she though "Im over here ashi!"She barked walking up to him with a sligth wag to her tail.Her ears perked up, and her eyes filled with spirit

He looked over in the direction that he heard her voice. "Rin, right now you are a soldier, and soldiers do not call me by that name." He sat down, wanting to get this fight going. He yawned and stretched a bit.

He looked at her and smiled, this was the first time he hoped someone got a higher position. "Hopefully you prove yourself worthy of a higher position, and then you will be able to call me 'Ashi', if you lose however, whichever of the two you prefer. You can have the first move if you like, but none of your fancy tricks in this fight, they are useful, but I want to see you fight me head on." He awaited her attack.

"Rawr!" a small brown wolf barked. She looked down at her leader and a large white dog fight? "What's going on?!" she barked.

He glanced at her white glistening death blades. Ran at her side and attempted to slash at her face. "Fight me like you mean it, remember, this determines your place in the army!"

Rin growled and turned her head throwing her weight towards ashi. her target, ashi's back.

Dusky sighed "She's not gonna win anyways. It's none of my buisness. Oh well! I'm gonna go climb a tree or something. Hmm..." she said, walking off to the nearest tree. She also wanted to watch the battle. She found a low branch and jumped on it, and then jumped to a branch high up with a good view of the brawl. She watched.

He looked at Dusky for a moment. "Bye platoon leader, see you in the meeting." Something bit his back, and he whimpered. He attempted to shake what he thought was Rin off, but if it was Rin she had a strong jaw grip. He started rolling on the ground in an attempt to get her to let go.

Rin tightened her grip on ashi not intensing to kill him, but to win a battle, "You see my strength even without my tricks is good"

The brown wolf's eyes widened. "Impressive! Hopefully the leader will break free, but if not, looks like I'm gonna have to drag my butt down there and fight the stranger myself." she said to herself.

He got up and flipped onto his back, hoping she would flinch and let go. "Yes, you are strong." He winced at the pain in his back, it was a pain that continued to pump into his body. He wondered if she would win, he had hoped she would, and it was the first person he wanted to win against him... but, he still had to try and beat her.

Rin let go to tease him and jumped off, she then faced him growling.
